This is the OEM replacement thermostat for LS1 engines. It is identical as the one the dealer was trying to sell me for $66. It should be mentioned that this is for LS1 with OEM water pumps. If you have replaced your water pump or have an 04+ engine, they make a new version where the housing is separate.

Even after much research, this still was not the correct part even though the description said it would fit.

After 3+ years the alternator is now charging at 11 amps which it should be at 13 amps.

I replaced this stat when I did my water pump in another review. It's working like it should and its OEM for a 2001 Pontiac Firebird Formula. When you compare this to an aftermarket replacement, you could immediately see the difference! These appear much more heavy duty.
